Nick Maughan Foundation x Awards

On June 20th, Dallaglio RugbyWorks will hold their annual Awards at St Martin-in-the-Fields, London, to celebrate our supporters and young people. The Nick Maughan Foundation is very kindly sponsoring the whole event and we would like to thank Nick Maughan and his incredible team for making this event possible.

Dallaglio RugbyWorks is a charity working with young people aged between 12-18 who are experiencing school exclusion to help support them in realising their full potential and inspire them to create a positive and productive future for themselves. Using our four cornerstones of delivery: developing life skills, raising aspirations, improving physical wellbeing and focusing on mental wellbeing, we use rugby as an engagement tool to build authentic trusted adult relationships.

With young people in care being ten times more likely to experience school exclusion and just 4% of excluded pupils achieving at least 5 GCSEs including English and Maths (vs 64% in mainstream schools), the work we do is now more vital than ever before.

We work across the UK in England and Wales and equip young people with the skills and resilience for life post-16, providing employability opportunities such as a CV development and interview practice. We also work with a variety of employers to provide ‘Career Taster Days’ - day trips to experience the workplace first hand, which helps to increase a young person’s likelihood of being in employment, education, or training post-18.

Nick Maughan, founder of the Nick Maughan Foundation says:

Dallaglio RugbyWorks operates at the forefront of British youth work providing second chances and clear pathways to young people who have often been left behind by the system. It is a great honour for NMF to support the first-class work being done by Lawrence, Zenna and the team.

Zenna Hopson, CEO of Dallaglio Rugby Works says:

We are so proud of the work we do but could not do this without support from generous people like Nick Maughan. We are so thankful to the Nick Maughan Foundation and Nick himself, who are playing a key part in raising the aspirations of our young people and supporting them on their future paths.

Thank you to Nick Maughan and the Nick Maughan Foundation, we can’t wait for a wonderful afternoon of celebrations.
