Insights and highlights from Term 2

Term 2 this year had its own sets of challenges, marked by teacher strikes across the country, a rise in persistent absences, and further slashed budgets for over 90% of the country’s schools. Despite this, we have seen our young people be amazing and resilient as they improve their teamwork skills on the BMX track and problem-solving skills at our Career Taster Days.

So far, this year we have worked with 48 educational provisions, community centres, and secure estates across England and Wales. We work in exclusion units within mainstream schools, alternate provisions, special emotional and mental health needs schools, and drop-in centres for permanently excluded young people in community and youth centres.

Across all our programmes, we have worked with over 1300 young people already, most of whom have attended multiple sessions with us. For more details about our programmes, please visit Our Work

We have seen steady and substantial improvements in our participants’ life skills and employability skills. We have also observed that more of our young people are open to discussing their problems and issues with our coaches, and are feeling more positive and connected to each other.

This term also saw us make big leaps in projects like incorporating digital skills into our curriculum and establishing delivery in a new region - the East of England.

We are also excited to roll out a new programme in partnership with NFL UK to popularize American Football in the UK and promote the sport as a viable career. We are also proud to announce Youth Animators, our brand-new team of young people content creators covering a range of topical themes like sports, pop culture and current affairs.

You can read all the highlights of our young people’s adventures and achievements this term in our Impact Report for Term 2.
