Dallaglio RugbyWorks announces new Trustees

Dallaglio RugbyWorks is delighted to announce three new trustees joining our team, Nick Maughan, Mai Fenton, and Paul Bashir.

Nick Maughan is a British philanthropist, investor, and founder of the Nick Maughan Foundation. He supports a number of charity and business enterprises across sports, environment and technological innovation. Nick’s own foundation The Nick Maughan Foundation, was established in 2020 to further a range of philanthropic initiatives in the spheres of education, the environment and community. The Foundation supports community projects both in the United Kingdom and worldwide.

Nick Maughan says: “As a newly appointed trustee of Dallaglio RugbyWorks, I am honoured and incredibly excited to embark on this journey of making a positive impact on the lives of young people. Joining RugbyWorks, with its unwavering commitment to empowering excluded youth through the power of rugby and sports, fills me with great enthusiasm. I am looking forward to seeing what the charity does next”.

Mai Fenton has 25 years’ experience in marketing across consumer goods, retail and ecommerce, lifestyle and technology. She is impassioned about brand building and data-informed marketing that delivers profitable growth, and is currently Chief Marketing Officer at Superscript, a high-growth insurance technology scale-up where she is responsible for all aspects of their brand, digital and partnerships marketing. Mai is also a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Henderson International Income Trust plc. Mai is passionate about rugby and the role sports plays in building communities and social cohesion. She is deeply concerned about youth development and equal opportunities, volunteering as a mentor for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds for the charity Brightside.

Mai Fenton says: “Community rugby has the power to bring and bond people together from all walks of life in a uniquely inclusive, purposeful and life affirming way. I believe that everyone should be given a fair chance in life, and so I am honoured to join Dallaglio RugbyWorks as a trustee to support the charity’s aims in harnessing rugby to change the lives of young people suffering exclusion, and in extending its reach to new communities and geographies”.

Paul Bashir is CEO of Harrison Street Europe investment management firm. Paul has 25 years of industry experience in corporate finance and real estate private equity. Paul enjoys working with charities which support children and young adults, establishing an annual charitable plan for Harrison Street which targets charities who support disabled or disadvantaged young people and has a personal mission of helping these charities grow. As an ex-rugby player, he is passionate about the sport and the advantages it provides young people, in particular, those seeking to use rugby to enhance their personal development, confidence, and to provide them with structure and foundation in their lives.

We are extremely excited to welcome all three to the RugbyWorks family and look forward to their input, continuing the impactful work we do.
