Support Rugbyworks through UK coaching award

As part of UK Coaching Week 2020, UK Coaching has today announced a new public-driven awards initiative to recognise those coaches who delivered sport and physical activity during the UK’s coronavirus lockdown, which will support us and Coach Core Foundation!

Through UK Coaching Heroes, the great British public will be able to nominate coaches who implemented great coaching ideas and made a considerable difference to others despite the adversity we faced because of the pandemic.

Nominations are open until the 11 October. Then from the 26 October - 8 November, the public will be able to vote for their favourite coaches from the shortlist of finalists.

Both us and Coach Core will benefit from any voluntary donations made during the award nomination process – so we’re encouraging you to #BackTheCoach!

By backing the coach you will be supporting us to not only create the coaches of the future, but also help support young people now to get more physically active through sport.

Our joint 10k target will ensure we fund a coach to deliver a year’s worth of rugby-active based learning in an education setting across England and Wales, which could help up to 20 young people at risk of exclusion to enable them to build a positive and productive future, whilst Coach Core can provide young people with life-changing support so they can develop the confidence, skills and qualifications they need to reach their full potential.

HOW YOU CAN BACK THE COACH

To reach our 10k target, you can back the coach by contributing your training experience:

Session at the gym – For the price of a PT session at the Gym £20, you could fund 2 hours of sports coaching and mentoring to young people in schools, leisure centres and youth clubs.

Monthly Gym Pass – For the price of a monthly gym pass £40, we can begin to build the future of a young person through important life lessons and developing their knowledge around physical activity.

Give us your trainers – For the price of a new pair of trainers £60, you could enable an apprentice to complete their first coaching qualification, giving them the confidence and skills to lead and coach fun and inclusive sporting workshops.

Kit ‘em Out – For the price of a training kit £100, we will be a large step closer to providing people with the coaches and mentors they need to not only develop their physical wellbeing, but to also equip them to have a positive and productive future in society.
