Rugbyworks joins sport for development movement

We are delighted to announce that Dallaglio RugbyWorks has joined the Sport for Development Coalition (SFDC) to help support our work changing young people’s lives.

The SFDC is a collective of organisations across the UK that passionately believe in the power of sport to act as a tool for intervention across society, which aligns with our programme that provides essential help for young people outside of mainstream education in England and Wales.

We’ve teamed up with over 70 organisations signed up including a number of wonderful charities, networks, funders and governing bodies that are using sport to tackle issues ranging from crime and unemployment to poverty and inequality.

Speaking on RugbyWorks joining the coalition, Sarah Mortiboys, Head of Programme and Impact, said: “It’s fantastic that RugbyWorks has joined the Sport for Development Coalition as this will help our work with over 500 young people across England and Wales that need the vital intervention we offer, to help them create and live the lives they not only entitled to but deserve.

“During this challenging time for everyone, we are fervently committed to #KeepRugbyWorking and teaming together with the Coalition to show that we’re needed more than ever for young people, particularly with their future’s looking more uncertain than ever following the coronavirus outbreak.

“RugbyWorks is all about using the power of rugby to engage young people into changing their futures for the better, so joining the movement featuring like-minded organisations makes perfect sense. We look forward to working close with the Coalitions members to share best practice and guidance on how to use sport to create a level playing field for everyone in society.”
