Dallaglio RugbyWorks launches 2024/25 Impact Report

Dallaglio RugbyWorks has today launched its 2024/25 Impact Report, marking a bold and creative shift in how the charity captures, measures and shares its impact with young people across the UK.

For the first time, the report has been written and designed in full collaboration with RugbyWorks Youth Animators and five young people from the Youth Voice Panel. Young people shaped the narrative, illustrated the characters, and ensured the report reflects real lived experiences rather than adult assumptions.

Breaking away from previous formats, the report tells the stories of three young people, each inspired by the real journeys of those supported by Dallaglio RugbyWorks. Their stories bring to life the complex challenges facing young people today — from exclusion and poverty to loneliness and lack of opportunity — and the transformative role of consistent, trauma-informed support.

Alongside these powerful narratives, the report highlights the scale and reach of Dallaglio RugbyWorks’ work over the past year:

  • 4,014 young people engaged in total, including 1,815 through term-time, evening and holiday programmes, and a further 2,199 through partner delivery

  • 63% of young people supported were eligible for Free School Meals

  • 40% came from Black or Ethnic Minority backgrounds

  • 29% had Special Educational Needs, and 16% were care experienced

  • 85% of young people improved their physical fitness, with 61% becoming active on four or more days per week

  • 92% felt more positive about their employment prospects, and 95% said the programme enhanced their employability skills

  • 226 young people achieved a qualification, supported by 50 employers across Career Taster Days and employability programmes

The report also demonstrates strong social and emotional outcomes, with a 17% decrease in young people getting angry and losing their temper, and 85% feeling more positive about life and future career options.

“We talk a lot about listening to young people, but this report shows what happens when you truly hand over the pen. Our young people didn’t just contribute, they led. From the stories told to the illustrations on the page, this Impact Report is theirs, and it reflects the realities, resilience and potential we see in young people every day.”

Zenna Hopson, CEO

This new approach represents a meaningful step forward for Dallaglio RugbyWorks, embedding youth voice across the organisation and ensuring that young people are not only the focus of the charity’s work, but active partners in shaping how its impact is understood and shared.

By placing lived experience at the heart of the report, Dallaglio RugbyWorks aims to offer a more authentic, engaging and human picture of the realities facing young people today — and the difference that long-term, relationship-based support can make.
