MORE INFO

Aleki cannot remember a time in his life where rugby was not in the picture. Aleki was exposed to the game of rugby at a very young age, starting to learn and play at six years old. He loved the game of rugby so much that even when there was no rugby ball around, he would find himself using anything like a coconut as a substitute. Aleki’s love for rugby is reflected in his impressive international rugby career spanning over 16 years. He is a former Tongan rugby union international player who has played at top rugby competitions of both southern and northern hemisphere. He has competed at three rugby World Cup tournaments (2007, 2011 and 2015) representing Tonga. Prior to moving to the northern hemisphere, Aleki played for the Bay of Plenty in New Zealand’s top flight while also lining up for the Chiefs in the southern hemisphere’s pre-eminent Super 14. In 2006 he travelled across the world to join Premiership side Worcester, making 186 appearances over seven years, before short spells at Edinburgh and Gloucester. Aleki has captained Tonga’s rugby team a number of times including at the rugby World Cup stage and has represented his country 38 times and 7 times for the Pacific Islanders tour. Prior to being a professional rugby player, Aleki was a police officer. Aleki truly believes in the power of the skills and knowledge rugby holds. There is no doubt in him that these skills once mastered are transformational in anyone’s life. He is passionate about using these skills to enable and empower young people to achieve their goals and dreams. He brings a wealth of rugby experience from playing to coaching rugby. He also has first-hand experience of working with young people as he raises his three beautiful daughters with his eldest starting college this year. Aleki is excited to be playing for the first time on the same team as Lawrence Dallaglio for such a great cause. This is new as they are usually playing against each other on the rugby field.
