Dallaglio RugbyWorks Legends Lunch at Boisdale
On Thursday 6 April, supporters of Dallaglio RugbyWorks attended a lunch hosted by Lawrence and fellow rugby legends who gave their opinions on the 2017 6 Nations and the upcoming Lions tour to New Zealand.
Hosted at Boisdale in the heart of Canary Wharf, over 200 guests enjoyed a 6 Nations themed menu with courses combining ingredients from each of the participating countries and we were delighted that both Mentzendorff and Shepherd Neame were able to support the event with drinks. In between courses, the exuberant Jonny Gould helped raise £55,000 through a main auction with lots including holiday homes in Barbados and Nice as well as tickets to England’s Old Mutual Wealth Series games in 2017.
Lawrence was joined by former England team mates Mike Tindall and David Flatman as well as Raphael Ibanez, Chris Paterson and Shane Horgan, and shared stories of old as well as their thoughts on the recent 6 Nations tournament and how it may impact Lions selection for this Summers tour to New Zealand. Guests were then given their opportunity to ask the panel questions both whilst they were on stage and when they mingled later down at the bar.
The aim of the event was to raise awareness of the RugbyWorks programme; an intensive, long-term skills programme based on rugby, through which we aim to get teenagers outside of mainstream education into sustained education, employment or training.
