Dallaglio RugbyWorks is an intensive, long-term skills development programme based on rugby, through which we aim to get teenagers outside of mainstream education into sustained education, employment or training.
Coast 2 Coast Completed - Dallaglio Dozen undefeated!
The Dallaglio Dozen arrive in Robin Hood's Bay to complete their Coast2Coast challenge raising over £25k for RugbyWorks.
After 14 days and 14 nights the Dallaglio Dozen have finally reached the finish line of their epic Coast2Coast challenge from St Bees to Robin Hoods Bay, a walk that has been rated as one of Europe’s toughest treks. 191 miles have been completed and over £25,000 has been raised by the courageous team all to go towards the Dallaglio Foundation and our primary programme, RugbyWorks. This incredible figure has more than exceeded their original target of £10,000!
This challenge is one close to the chief organiser, Fraser Grigg’s heart who in April 2014 suffered a stroke in Dubai Airport. He was told he was crazy to think he could complete the gruelling walk but two years later he has proved them wrong and has completed his road to recovery and lifetime ambition.
Fraser Griggs said, "For me personally, this draws a line under 2014. It was a big challenge, one the Doctors in Dubai thought impossible so I'm delighted we're here right now. I couldn't have done it in a country closer to my heart, with a group of friends closer to my heart and for a charity closer to my heart."
The Dallaglio Foundation are in awe of Fraser and his team for the fantastic efforts they gone to to raise money and awareness for the Dallaglio Foundation and RugbyWorks. We hope they enjoy a restful few days of celebrating together.
Congratulations and thanks to Fraser, Tom, Gary, Geoff, Adrian, Stuart, Peter, Deon, Duncan, Brett, Jim and Chris.
