Houses of Parliament Tour
On Friday 27th November a group of six pupils and two supporting staff from Ferndale Community School, South Wales headed to London, on their first RugbyWorks taster day, to the Houses of Parliament.
It was a great opportunity for the school, in their first RugbyWorks year, to visit such a significant location as it educated the group on the history of Parliament and what happens on a day to day basis there. The trip was enjoyed by all, many of whom had never been to London.
Ben Collinson quoted, “I enjoyed the Houses of Parliament, we had an awesome tour around and the tour guide told us everything about the history of the Houses of Parliament – she seemed to know more than anyone.”
Will Harris added, “I learnt new things about the Houses of Parliament and a lot about the history of Parliament. It was good to find out what royalty have been into the Houses of Parliament like Henry VIII and Queen Victoria.”
A truly great day was had by all. It was brilliant for the pupils to experience new places, they managed to fit in a quick spin on the London Eye, and meet new people, including some of those on the RugbyWorks Programme in London. And of course, the opportunity to visit the Houses of Parliament was incredible.
Many thanks to everyone involved in making the visit possible.
